Prediction Mile Rules
Competition in a Prediction Event is different from a typical race. In a prediction event, the winners are determined by how close their finish time is to their predicted time declared beforehand (being slower or faster does not matter - a predicted time of 6 minutes with an actual time of 5:55 and 6:05 would equally be a result of 5 seconds).
In a prediction event, any type of watch or listening device that can aide your pace is prohibited. There are also no finish clocks or a visible running time. Spectators or coaches are not allowed to give splits or advice such as 'you're too fast', 'relax', 'pick up the pace', etc.
Awards will be given to the top finishers of each race.
Each race will also include a member of the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project. Anyone in the race with a better Prediction Result that the professional will also be eligible for a prize.
