The Cowboy Western Themed Running Experience

Cowboy or cowgirl it up!  We are celebrating everything WESTERN.  Country western band and music.  It’s not just a run, it is the cowboy round up of the year.  Learn to rope station, try your turn at a mechanical bull...of course one by one, social distanced style!  Best themed event shirts.  Custom cast medal that turns into a belt buckle! Line dance warm up area.  Karl Straus Brewery opens after the event.   5K /10K age division awards.  Top three overall trophies.  RFID CHIP TIMED by Itz About Time. It’s our Wild West in all of us. TIME: STAGGERED START between 6:30AM to 8:30am (every 5 seconds)

WHERE:  Santa Ana Riverbed Paved Trail.  Staging area: 2121 Towne Centre Pl, Anaheim, Ca. 92806

 Perfect selfie moments! ‘Corral’ camaraderie! Group Discounts offered for 10 or more members.(Remember to stay social distanced 6 feet apart!)  And to wear a mask before and after your run.  Not required while running.

 Awards are 3 deep in 5-year age spans.  Plus top overall male and female trophies.

There are “In It To Win It” age categories 3 deep with 5 year age spans:
1-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39 40-44, 45-49, 50-54,55-59 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80&Over.

PARKING: Event is West of the 57 freeway and South  of Orangewood. Go South on Rampart behind the Karl Straus Brewery.  Ample parking on the streets and in the lots surrounding 2121 Towne Centre Pl, Anaheim, Ca. Be courteous to social distancing, even when parking. 

Pre-Race Day Packet Pick up or SIGN up :

  Time: 2 pm to 5 pm pm Friday, March 12, 2020.

RACE DAY SIGN UPS available at RACE SITE  from 6:00am to 8:15am.  And RACE DAY PICK UP AVAILABLE. 

Stick around and enjoy draft beers and burgers at the Brewery. (Opens at 11)  And a CURB SIDE pick up style age division award set up. Begins at 9am for 5k and 9:15am for 10K.  Age division awards and trophies will be in the Karl Straus parking lot from 9:00am to 10:30am. 

Walk up registration welcome and on race day . One person may pick up for other participants. Strollers and dogs on leases allowed.

Course: Definitely flat and fast on the paved running, bike path. Does go under two under passes and 10K has a wood bridge to cross.  Picturesque with views of the BIG A at Angel Stadium. 

PLEASE NOTE: Course IS open to the public and will be shared with CYCLISTS and other runners and dog walkers.

Start is just south of ORANGEWOOD behind the Fire Training Academy on the SANTA ANA RIVERBED  Trail and pathway. 

You choose your course tactics. Race…Jog…Stroll…or Roll. Families can bring strollers but agrees to use at own risk..  TURN AROUND attendant and water and the 5k (1.5 mile)  turn around and the 10K turn around.

We are asking for additional donation to support MISS PAM’s Ranch; a ranch that has changed countless lives by a woman in a wheelchair. Do something real and really needed. Miss Pam’s ranch needs wheelchair accessibility. We can free up funds for ramps by your donations feeding the animals on the ranch. Pick a project and fall in love with the great combination of kids and live stock. Caren Ware Events is forming Ware in the World Foundation, which connects cultures through outdoor activities.  Providing hope, happiness, and enhanced life experiences.

Rain or Shine. MASKS required at the shirt and bib Pick up areas and BEFORE and AFTER THE start.  NOT REQUIRED on the run.

Can I bring my dog? Yes, please keep on a leash.  Must take off in last starting corral.

Can I bring my stroller? Yes, please start at the back of the pack when the race begins.

Can I pick up for my friends at the optional Early Packet Pick UP? Yes. Please print confirmation for each participant.

Do I have to pick up my packet at the optional early packet pick up? You may pick up your packets at early packet pick up or on race day. Just give yourself time if picking up on race day.


Please be aware that, at this time, many locations are waiting to issue permits to any event-related activities until after January 21.  We may have to alter the event location, but we will stage an in-person form of the race.  Currently, we are doing staggered starts and tabulated times to establish the age division winners.  You will still experience great bling, a great vibe, and the camaraderie and motivation that comes from doing a live event, but safely.  Masks worn before and after the event may be required.  And 6 feet apart social distancing.
