Everyone needs more cowbell in their life
Description
Registration now open! Whether it is listening to your favorite rock band or running your favorite race course, we all need more cowbell in our life, especially now. So let’s celebrate one of our favorite Saturday Night Live episodes with the More Cowbell Virtual 5K.
If you can answer yes to any of the following statements, you should definitely sign up for the More Cowbell Virtual 5K:
- The sound of cowbells may or may not make me run faster
- Will Ferrell knows how to play a mean cowbell
- I run/walk for cool shirts and swag
- I know who Bruce Dickinson is
Every entry gets you a custom, high quality shirt you will love to wear, an awesome cowbell, AND you support an amazing cause.
How does a Virtual Run work?
1) Register for the event. We will ship you your limited edition More Cowbell 5K shirt and cowbell within two weeks after signing up.
2) Run or walk 3.1 miles. It can be anywhere (a nearby park, favorite trail, your backyard, even a treadmill) with anyone (social distancing of course).
3) Celebrate your accomplishment by posting a picture on social media in your gear and with your cowbell using the hashtag #MoreCowbell5K. We will be awarding prizes for the best pictures.
Make it fun! We strongly suggest embracing the theme with some of these ideas:
- Run wearing your favorite 70's attire (and your new More Cowbell shirt of course)
- Get the band back together and do a group run (6 feet apart)
- Run with your cowbell and ring that baby!
- Get your friends to cheer you on with cowbells
- Get in the mood with music. May we suggest (Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult?
Registration Includes
- ENTRY to the More Cowbell Virtual 5K
- Limited edition More Cowbell SHIRT available in your choice of two colors
- Amazing finisher COWBELL of course!
- FINISHER CERTIFICATE
- DONATION to AFE Foundation on your behalf
- PRIZES when you share your run/walk photo on Instagram using the hashtag #MoreCowbell5K
Giving
A portion of proceeds go to the AFE Foundation. Amniotic fluid embolism or AFE is a life-threatening, acute and unexpected birth complication that can affect both mother and baby. It is among the leading causes of maternal death in the United States. After experiencing AFE during childbirth and almost dying, Miranda Klassen started the AFE Foundation which is the only organization in the world dedicated to AFE and the research to prevent it. Read her story in People magazine and find out more about the AFE foundation here.
