Graniterock - A.R. Wilson Quarry
1900 Quarry Road
Aromas, CA US 95004

Description

Lace up your running shoes and join us for one of the most unique 5K events in California.

For one day each year, Graniterock's historic Wilson Quarry opens its gates to the community, giving runners and walkers exclusive access to a working hard rock quarry that has helped build California for more than 126 years.

As you make your way through the quarry, you'll travel past towering quarry walls, ancient granite deposits formed millions of years ago and some of the largest and most impressive construction equipment on the Central Coast.

The Rock & Run 5K offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at a place few people ever get to experience.

Along the route, you'll see firsthand how Graniterock combines modern mining, environmental stewardship and responsible land management to produce the materials that build and maintain our roads, homes, schools and infrastructure.

Whether you're chasing a personal best, walking with friends and family or simply looking for a memorable outdoor adventure, Rock & Run is an experience unlike any other.

Running In A Century Old Quarry Is Cool!

The A.R. Wilson quarry has been an active quarry for 126 years!  You get to see sites you would never see on other runs as you go up and down the roads that wander through some unique rock faces and granite deposits, in and around some of the massive equipment and trucks used to mine the quarry.

Course Map

The course for 2026 will be very similar the course pictured here.  Keep in mind that we never really know what the course will be until the Friday night before the race and after the daily operations have finished and there may be a few changes.  So be sure to follow the signs and directions from volunteers.
