Description
You're Invited to join us for Rock & Run 2023 on Roctober 15!
Rock & Run describes the unique experience that awaits you as you meander through a 123 year-old, environmentally responsible, operational hard rock quarry. This is a 10K Run or 5K Walk/Run as you have never imagined. See the working quarry face, the ancient granite deposit, the massive equipment that processes it, and the natural surroundings, as you take the challenge of the Rock and Run. This event will benefit Aromas School.
Race Number pickup will open at 7:00am and the race will start at 8:00am. Please plan on arriving on time to pick up your number before the race so that we can start on time.
Online registration will close at 6:00pm on Saturday, October 14.
Running In A Century Old Quarry Is Cool!
The A.R. Wilson quarry has been an active quarry for 122 years! You get to see sites you would never see on other runs as you go up and down the roads that wander through some unique rock faces and granite deposits, in and around some of the massive equipment and trucks used to mine the quarry.
Course Map
The course for 2023 will be very similar the course pictured here. Keep in mind that we never really know what the course will be until the Friday night before the race and after the daily operations have finished.
The 5K course is in red. The 10K course will do the 5K course and then head up into the hills (blue lines) around the back side of the quarry for a loop before rejoining the course at the bottom of the hill.
