The Love Your Park Walk & Run Fundraiser supports the North of the River Recreation Foundation's Youth Scholarship Fund. Every step you take helps local children and families access recreation programs, sports, and camps that build confidence, connection, and lifelong memories.
Whether you're running the 5K or 10K, walking the Fun Run, or cheering from the sidelines, this event is all about loving our parks, loving our hearts, and investing in the community spaces that bring us together.

💪 10K – Take on an extended course and challenge yourself while supporting a great cause.
Please note: The Fun Run takes place entirely within Polo Community Park. The 5K and 10K routes extend beyond the park into the surrounding neighborhoods and through Almondale Park.

Pop-Up Rec
🎉 The Love Your Park campaign celebrates healthy communities, active lifestyles, and the parks that bring us together throughout Bakersfield.
Join NOR's Pop-Up Rec experience before and after the race! Participants, family members, and friends are invited to enjoy lawn games, connect with local recreation staff, discover programs available throughout the District, and learn new ways to get involved in parks and recreation.

Get Ready for Love Your Park!
🏃♀️🏃♂️ Join the NOR Family Run Group, a free weekly walk/run program designed for families of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you're training for the Love Your Park Walk & Run, introducing your kids to healthy activity, or simply looking for a fun way to spend Saturday mornings together, everyone is welcome!

Participants may walk, jog, or run at their own pace. Routes are family-friendly, and participants can complete as many laps as they'd like during the program.
Dates: 10/24, 11/7, 11/21, 12/5, 12/19, 1/2, 1/16, 1/30
Meeting Location: East side of the park in front of the restrooms near the basketball court

Important Information:
- Participants under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the program.
- No registration is required. All participants must complete a waiver before participating.
- Please bring a water bottle and dress appropriately for weather conditions.
- Programs may be modified or cancelled due to weather, air quality, or other safety concerns.
