Description
Welcome to the iCAN Tri Spring, formerly known as the Sierra Kids Tri! This iconic, Clovis based race will once again take place this year at the Alta Sierra School. This race features a pool swim, a flat, looped course for the bike, and an equally flat run course. Distances per age group are listed below. This race is a JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS POINTS qualified race with the USAT. The race is sanctioned with the USAT.
We will have an adult wave this year, which will kick off the race. Then, the kids will begin coming in waves of 2 year age increments. Age Groups will be broken into waves of 20, with a shared/split pool lane (2 people per lane) per wave. Age Groups will be as follows:
NOTE: Your registration group will be based on the age you as of December 31, 2019. So a kid who is currently 7, but turns 8 in October wil register in the 8-9 year old division, because his/her age will be 8 on December 31, 2019. (These are USAT rules)
Under 5 - accommodations will be made for flotation devices in the pool, as well as a parent handler allowed in the pool and on course. Notice: PARENTS MUST REGISTER if they want to be on course. Parent course buddies will also be required to have a USAT number or purchase the one day license for liability purposes. Parents may swim with their kids if necessary, and may run alongside them for the bike and run. Parents will NOT be allowed their own bike on course for safety reasons. Swim - 25 meters (one length of the pool), Bike - 1 Mile (1/2 lap around campus, coming in/out the service road by the pool), Run - 1/4 Mile
6-7 year old - Swim - 50 Meters (2 lengths of the pool), Bike - 2 Miles (1 lap around the campus), Run - 1/2 Mile
8-9 year old - Swim - 50 Meters (2 lengths of the pool), Bike - 2 Miles (1 lap around the campus), Run - 1/2 Mile
10-11 year old - Swim - 100 Meters (4 lengths of the pool), Bike - 2 Miles (1 lap around the campus), Run - 1/2 Mile
12-13 year old - Swim - 150 Meters (6 lengths of the pool), Bike - 4 Miles (2 Laps around the campus), Run - 1 Mile
14-15 year old - Swim - 200 Meters (8 lengths of the pool), Bike - 4 Miles (2 laps around the campus), Run - 1.75 Miles
16-17 year old - Swim - 250 Meters (10 lengths of the pool), Bike - 6 Miles (3 laps around the campus), Run - 2.2 Miles
18+ adult wave - Adults will follow the same route as the 16-17 year olds. Adult waves may be broken down further based on age or gender to allow spacing and safety.
Registration will be accepted until Friday, April 12th. No pre-race registration accepted. Register by March 15th to guarantee your shirt size. Registrations after March 15th may choose from extra shirt sizes that have been ordered.
There is no guarantee that your shirt size will be available on race day for registrations after March 15th. For those registering after March 15th, we will fill shirt orders with what we have ordered, and when we run out, we will place another order for the balance of the shirts, and you can pick yours up from Fleet Feet in the weeks following the race.
Awards:
Youth and Junior awards will be given for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female in each age group.
Adult awards will be for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place female and male OVERALL adults. USAT rankings will be sent in 5 year increments as required by USAT for points purposes.
Refund Policy: Refunds will not be issued for this race.
