Description
Join Community Recreation for a 5-week beginner obedience training for adult dogs. Our professional trainer will work with you on techniques and skills to help your four-legged family member become more well behaved. Class open to non-aggressive dogs, 9 months+, with proof of current shot record at first session.
It's meant as a foundation class (Level 1) they will need to bring the gentle leader (we wont be using that on the first day), a clicker, a dog pouch with strap to wear on your waist, and their dogs favorite treats (preferable small treats that can be eaten quickly and dispensed easily.
Day 1: We will cover Motivation and the Economics of Behavior, Sit, Down, Watch me and intro to Stay.
Day 2: Confidence Building and Trust.... It's a two way street. Expand on Stay (prepare for a test on stay the following week) and Intro to Recall
Day 3: Communication and body language. Small test on Stay (Walk around dog twice clockwise and counter clockwise), and Intro to loose leash walking.
Day 4: The Importance of Exercise and Owner Dog Interactions. Expand on loose leash walking. Intro to go to mat, and leave it.
Day 5: Help with Crate Training, Vet visits, and Nail Clipping. 5 min down stay test.

Trainers certification is from DTIA a dog training academy in San Francisco-- a comprehensive 5 month long dog theory and psychology academic that involves extensive hands on training with shelter dogs, mock webinars, live clients and Applied Behavior Analysis; ABA Certified.
