Thank you for being a part and supporting us in our 6th Annual Homeward Bound 5k Run & Walk!
Our theme this year is: 5K Shepherd Shuffle: A Sheptember to Remember!!
On September 29th we will be hosting our 5th Annual Homeward Bound Race supporting our common goal: to save as many German Shepherd lives as is possible! This September, or we’d like to say “Sheptember,” we Remember those Shepherds that are still waiting to be Rescued. It’s with them in mind that we RUN, RUN, RUN or WALK, WALK, WALK in our Homeward Bound 5k so that we can raise funds to go back and Rescue those dogs and give them a chance for a second lease on life.

With every dog we are able to Adopt to a Forever Home, or place in a loving Foster Home, we are able to save another. It’s a win-win! For the dogs we rescue, they are welcomed into our Coastal Pack with lots of love and attention. For some dogs, it is the first time they will be treated with respect, care and dignity. Our faithful Coastal Volunteers make it their mission to help these beautiful dogs find love again.
Your donations go directly to our Coastal rescue dogs’ health and well-being, and help them prepare to be Homeward Bound!
This “Sheptember“ you will help us raise the funds needed to cover: Veterinary Care, Medications, Boarding Costs, Baths and Grooming, Special Playtime, Leashes, Collars and Supplies .It doesn’t happen overnight. Some lucky dogs find their new home after just a few weeks. Others need a little more time. And for some it may take many months for their Happy Tail to come true. And then we do it all over again.
RACE INFORMATION This year we have fun activities planned before and after the race. We will have live entertainment from the musicians from Bach to Rock Encinitas! These kids are AWESOME! In addition to the Race, we will have AWARDS, CONTESTS, COASTAL MERCHANDISE, FOOD and FUN! You’ll have a chance to enter one of the doggie challenges: Best Trick (Adult handler) Best Trick (Child handler) Singing Contest (Best Howl) Fluffiest Tail Dog-Human Look Alike Best Costume (canine). Are you ready already?! We know you are!
So invite your family and friends. And guess what? This is a DOG FRIENDLY event, so bring your dog along for the RUN and FUN.
