MWR on the Trail: Sweetwater River Loop

Venture a little farther with this month's MWR on the Trail to Cuyamaca Rancho State Park! Join our Outdoor Adventure Center staff for a hike of Sweetwater River Loop near Descanso, CA and explore some of San Diego County's local wilderness. The Hike can range from  2.5 miles (if you only want to hike to the waterfall and back) to 8 miles if you hike the entire loop. Registered patrons can find our MWR Staff along the trail between 9AM-12PM for a chance to receive MWR swag or outdoor gear.  Look for our MWR uniforms to find us. First time MWR on the Trail participants will receive a t-shirt upon locating our staff on the trail. Repeat hikers have the chance to claim other prizes in lieu of the shirts.     

Important Considerations:

- This is self lead hike. While finding MWR staff is the goal, safety and preparedness is each individual hiker's responsibility.

- This trail is not stroller friendly and may be challenging for younger children. Please plan accordingly. Backpack carriers are a great option if travelling with your little. 

- Parking at the address listed here requires $10 self registration for Cuyamaca Rancho State Park day-use. This is not included in the event fees.  Please bring cash if planning to park there. These day-use fees help fund the creation and up-keep of our public trails and outdoor spaces.
