RACE POSTPONED!

New Date: October 3rd 2020

Due to the dangerous air quality caused by the Creek Fire, we have decided to postpone the Boston in Central California Marathon until SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3RD 2020.  We have received word from the Boston Athletic Association that there will be an extension allowed to submit your Boston Marathon Virtual Results.

Description

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A PRIVATE RACE AND SHOULD NOT BE SHARED ON SOCIAL MEDIA FOR ANY REASON.

That's right. Boston has come to Fresno. To celebrate the tradition of The Boston Marathon, those who were planning on running The Boston Marathon Virtually this year are invited to take part in this "unofficial" event.

This event will be capped at 30 participants.

This event is put on by runners here in the central valley who want to make Boston happen here in our own backyard. Due to the current situation, we realize it is not practical to host a large scale event. We are putting this on so that Boston Marathon Qualifiers get a chance to cross the finish line of what they started years ago when they first started training. Our hope is to bring this local group of Boston Qualifiers together and celebrate their achievements.

Funds and donations raised by the event are put directly back into the event. Please use the contact button on this page with any questions.

-A designated chip will be assigned to you. More information about the pickup process will be released as the event draws closer.

2. I am not registered for the Boston Marathon Virtual Run, can I still participate?

-If you meet the time standards set out by the BAA for the marathon, you are more than welcome to join us! See the link below for the official time standards.

https://www.baa.org/2020-boston-marathon-qualifier-acceptances-announced

-There will be route arrows on the ground and directional signs on the course. Since you are an experienced runner, we know that you have studied the course anyways!
