Description

This 5k run is a fundraiser for the Clovis Community Cross Country/Track and Field program.  Unlike traditional local 5k races, this race will feature a team aspect. Participants will be divided into two teams: City of Fresno Residents vs. non City of Fresno residents (Clovis, Madera, Sanger, Kingsburg, Visalia, Hanford, etc.).  All 5k participants will be on one team or the other based on their address indicated upon registration.  Exact scoring procedures will be determined the week of the race.  The bigger team will have an advantage- so no matter how fast (or not-so-fast) you are, you will be helping your team by participating :)

About the Event

  • This event is intended to be a fun community event, along with some competition :)
  • Each participant will get a race day T-Shirt that comes in a different color for each team.
  • All donations and profit from the event go to the Clovis Community College XC/Track team to fund equipment, travel, apparel/uniforms, and a Track and Field facility.

Community Showcase

The long-term vision is to have a morning of competition showcasing the variety of talent across the Central Valley.  For example, local vendors or community residents would face off and represent either the 'City' or the 'County' in various competitions such as 'Best Coffee' 'Best Breakfast Burritos/Cinnamon Rolls', Best 'Salsa Dancers', 'artists', 'musicians', etc...This would take place as part of the post-race festivities.  If you are a vendor or individual with a talent of some sort and would like to be involved in the event/contests contact clayton.albertson@cloviscollege.edu.
*As this is the first year of the event and we are still in the planning stages, no contests have been formally created yet.  Any suggestions are welcome.

Sponsors/Vendors

  • Local vendors are encouraged to come join the fun and promote your business.  *No Booth fee.
  • If you are interested in vendor space or sponsoring the event please contact clayton.albertson@cloviscollege.edu
