Description

Valley Center for the Blind is pleased to announce our second annual Striding Beyond Sight 5k fun run/walk on October 13th, 2018 at Woodward Park in Fresno. This event will benefit the Valley Center for the Blind as we make strides beyond sight.

Valley Center for the Blind, with the valuable support of partners in our community, have joined forces to provide assistance toward ensuring that those who are visually impaired have the ability to learn to become more self-sufficient and independent. In addition, we also have rehabilitation programs that are specific to the visually impaired. These programs include orientation and mobility training, learning specialized living skills and the teaching of Braille.

Valley Center for the Blind’s commitment to bettering the lives of those with visual impairments is clearly demonstrated in the positive impact we continue to have on the lives of people throughout the valley. In addition to the work we do in training and advocacy, we also help with job placement and create jobs for the visually impaired. This effort is critical when you consider that the unemployment rate for the visually impaired is 70 percent!

Please join us for a 5k run, 2 mile walk, or a 1/4 mile kids run and help support Valley Center for the Blind.
