5K Run/Walk
Description
This Veteran's 5K Run/Walk is to honor and support the brave men and women who served our country. This family-friendly event is great for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, offering a course through an area of the Empire Polo. Come join us in this event as we celebrate veterans' service and sacrifice.
Participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Hunter Lopez Memorial Foundation. This event will also feature a pre-race celebration with refreshments, music, and a special ceremony to honor our veterans. Let's come together to run, remember, and show our appreciation for those who have given so much for our freedom.
Kid’s under the age of 10 are free and veteran’s receive a $25 discount.
Race Information
Race Day Schedule
- Check-in: 7:00 a.m.
- Opening Ceremony: 8:00 a.m.
- 5K Run/Walk start: 8:30 a.m.
Course Type
This course is suitable for runners and walkers of all levels, whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned athlete. It will feature a mix of paved streets, dirt paths, and grassy areas.
Parking
Parking is free and staff will be available to direct traffic to the designated parking areas.
Hunter Lopez Memorial Foundation
The Hunter Lopez Memorial Foundation was established to honor the memory of Marine Corporal Hunter Lopez, a native of the Coachella Valley who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The foundation provides support to veterans, military families, and youth-focused initiatives, fostering a spirit of service and community engagement. In addition, each $10 donation made gets you a free entry into a chance to win a pair of 3-day GA 2025 Stagecoach tickets. The winner will be contacted via phone and email within two weeks of the event.

1. What is the age limit for participants?
Participants of all ages are welcome. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
2. Are pets allowed?
To ensure the safety and comfort of all participants, pets are not allowed at the event.
3. Are strollers allowed on the course?
Strollers are permitted, but we recommend starting toward the back for safety.
4. Will the race be timed?
The race will be timed using bibs equipped with chips to ensure accurate timing for all participants. Bibs
will be provided during check-in.
5. Where can I find race results?
Results will be posted on our website shortly after the race concludes.
