The City of Indio proudly hosts the annual Veterans Day 5K & 10K Run/Walk each Veterans Day in honor of our nation's heroes and in memory of local native Lance Corporal Hunter Lopez, who made the ultimate sacrifice on August 26, 2021, in Kabul, Afghanistan, while serving his country.

This special event brings our community together to remember Hunter's legacy of service, courage, and selflessness while paying tribute to all military veterans who have served and sacrificed for our freedom.

Thanks to the generosity of our participants, sponsors, and donors, proceeds from the event directly benefit the Hunter Lopez Memorial Foundation and the American Legion. These contributions help support programs, scholarships, veteran services, and initiatives that honor the sacrifices of our military members and their families.
