Description

The Walk to Stop Diabetes is presented by the Hinthel Diabetes Action Council and aspires to promote diabetes awareness and prevention. 

 

This year's walk will be done virtually! The Race starts ANYWHERE you choose, so start at your doorstep or venture outdoors to a favorite walking trail! 

 

The walk will kick off at 10a.m. HDAC committee members will be going LIVE on Facebook to bless the event and provide a quick warm up to start your journey. 

After that, each participant will choose their own path and set their own step goals. Participants are encouraged to check in to Facebook as Lake County Tribal Health-Diabetes Outreach goes Live througho

Ways to Participate in our walk and help us spread awareness! 

  • Register for walk! 

  • Like our NEW Facebook page- Lake County Tribal Health- Diabetes Outreach (click on words FACEBOOK at bottom of this page) 

  • Post your scavenger hunt pictures directly to our Facebook page 

  • Submit your "virtual steps" under the RESULTS tab above or post a picture of your steps directly to our Facebook page 
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

Scavenger Hunt Rules

Take a picture of at least 5 of the following items and post them directly to our Facebook page 
  •  mailbox with the number 24 in it
  •  yard with pumpkins
  •  pedestrian walking sign
  •  fire hydrant
  •  selfie with your walking partner
  •  picture of your total number of steps walked
  •  proof of fall (acorns, leaves, etc)
  •  your feet hitting the pavement (or trail)
