Description

Hello everyone! My name is Dylan Zuelke and this is the Casa Youth 5K Run/Walk. I am currently a senior at Millikan High and am in the QUEST program. Part of the QUEST program requires that seniors take part in the senior project class where students must come up with an idea and fulfill it. For my project I chose to organize and sponsor this 5K Run/Walk in order to raise funds for the Casa Youth Shelter organization located in Los Alamitos. The Casa Youth Shelter (CYS) is an organization that houses homeless and runaway children between the ages of 12 and 17. There are very few shelters in the surrounding area that give this type of assistance to children in need. After visiting the shelter and hearing what they accomplish each year amazed me and I knew that this was the right place to fundraise for. For more information of what the Casa Youth Shelter has done for not only Los Alamitos, but Long beach and many other surrounding areas, you can go to their website at http://www.casayouthshelter.org/. Presented by Dylan Zuelke, for his Millikan High School Quest Senior Project and partnership with the City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation & Marine Department.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the race!
