Cancellation of the 21st Annual Bruin Run/Walk 5K
To all of our friends, supporters, and community:
SWC Bruin Run/Walk’s mission is to support programs that further enhance the well-being and health of children in the greater Los Angeles area. Over the last 20 years, we’ve been responsible for organizing and hosting one of the largest student-run events at UCLA: a 5K during the spring that supports the Chase Child Life Program at the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital. Funds raised from our event are directly donated to the program to support Chase Child Life specialists who play an essential role in helping pediatric patients and their families better acclimate to the hospital environment.
It is with our deepest sadness and regret that we announce the cancellation of the 21st Annual Bruin Run/Walk, originally scheduled on Sunday, April 26, 2020. As one of the twelve committees in the Student Wellness Commission, our highest priority is that everyone remains safe and healthy during these troubling times. Therefore, we want to ensure the health and well-being of the community by preventing the further spread of COVID-19.
We will be offering refunds for our 5K event, but please know that this is a fundraiser for the Chase Child Life Program. It would be greatly appreciated if you considered your registration fee as a donation. If you would still like to receive a refund, please indicate this on RunSignUp AND email us directly at bruinrunwalk@gmail.com. The deadline to request a refund is April 26, 2020.

The 21st annual Bruin Run/Walk will be a 5K race that benefits the children of the Chase Child Life Program at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital. This program works to ease the fear of young children entering the hospital as they battle sometimes life-threatening diseases.
We would love for you to join us in supporting the children and staff of Chase Child Life in the 21st Annual Bruin Run/Walk! The race takes place Sunday, April 26th at 8:00AM in Wilson Plaza. It is a 5K that takes you around the heart of UCLA’s campus and afterward. We will have vendors and entertainment for you to enjoy (a capella performances, FREE food, children's activities & more)! Registering for the event also guarantees you a FREE T-Shirt and goodies!
