Update (7:30 PM Friday): Earlier today, a forest fire broke out near Piñon Hills, roughly 11 miles north of Mt. Baldy. While there is no threat of the fire impacting the Mt. Baldy Resort area, we are closely watching the AQI in the surrounding area.
For context, our team was up on the mountain all afternoon, and the air at the Top of the Notch remained clear. However, conditions can shift over the next 24 hours.
Please rest assured that we are monitoring the situation very closely. Our team will be on the mountain early tomorrow morning to assess conditions firsthand, and we will get another update to everyone before 10am on Saturday.
