Description
During these challenging times, the need is extremely great to support individuals caught up in Domestic Violence relationships. Join the Dalphne Belegrave Kersee Foundation as we encourage our communities to participate in our Virtual Walk-Run-Bike 90 Mile Challenge! The Challenge will kick off Friday, September 18, 2020 through October 31, 2020. We have selected this day to kick off the challenge because this would have been Daphne Belegrave-Kersee’s 90th birthday had she escaped the domestic violence relationship that ended her life.
It is our desire and mission during this challenge to educate our communities that Domestic Violence is defined as a pattern of behaviors used by one partner to maintain POWER and CONTROL over another partner in an intimate relationship. As advocates for those trying to find their way out, we will Walk, Run, Bike to raise funds to End Domestic Violence. For every child that shutters in fear as they witness the verbal and physical abuse that transpires in a Domestic violence household we will Walk, Run, Bike in their memory. We will begin our journey Friday, September 18th forging our way into the month of October, National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Register and join us in our endeavor right in your community.
