Description

Imagine Halloween Morning…

Families, runners, and walkers dressed in creative costumes, colorful decorations, music, laughter, and hundreds of people enjoying one of Porterville’s most beautiful outdoor spaces.

Join us on Saturday, October 31, 2026, for the Tule River Parkway Boo Run 5K & 10K! Whether you are a seasoned runner chasing a personal best, a casual walker, or a family looking for a fun Halloween activity, there is something for everyone.

Both races start and finish at Fallen Heroes Park in Porterville. The courses travel along the Tule River Parkway, a paved pedestrian and bicycle trail that follows the Tule River. The 5K features a shorter out-and-back course, while the 10K continues farther along the Parkway before returning to the park.

Costumes Encouraged

Come dressed as something spooky, silly, heroic, or completely original. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Please make sure your costume is safe for running or walking, does not block your vision, and does not create a tripping hazard for you or anyone around you.

Fallen Heroes Park offers restrooms, playgrounds, pavilions, picnic areas, and other amenities for participants and their families to enjoy before and after the race.

FREE BICYCLE HELMET GIVEAWAY

The Tulare County Association of Governments will be giving away bicycle helmets during the event while supplies last.
Supporting the Tule River Parkway

The Boo Run brings new visitors to the Tule River Parkway while promoting healthy lifestyles, outdoor recreation, and community spirit.

Most importantly, the Boo Run is the Tule River Parkway Association’s only annual fundraising event. Every registration helps support the Association’s work throughout the year.

About the Tule River Parkway Association

The Tule River Parkway Association is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to the restoration, protection, development, and public enjoyment of the Tule River corridor.

Working alongside the City of Porterville, the Association helps provide quality outdoor experiences for residents and visitors through:

  • The beautiful 2.7-mile pedestrian and bicycle trail connecting Fallen Heroes Park to the Highway 190/Highway 65 interchange
  • More than 32 California native plant gardens
  • Educational programs and volunteer opportunities
  • Ongoing improvements that make the Parkway a destination for recreation, nature, and community gatherings
  • Choose your distance, grab your costume, and join us for a frightfully fun Halloween morning on the Tule River Parkway!
