Go The SOCIAL Distance

Get ready to Go the SOCIAL Distance and support the COVID-19 Relief Efforts of the Shasta Family YMCA.  
Our Shasta Family YMCA Get Out and Move Fitness Challenge is a virtual fitness event that takes place May 15- June 15 2020.  
Choose from a 1K, 5K, or 10K distance plus the location and physical activity of your choice! You can walk, run, roll, ride, hike, bike and more.  
This fitness challenge is perfect for any age and every ability. We ask that you please adhere to official social distancing and safety guidelines while completing this challenge.  
 
How to participate: 

1. Register 
2. Make a donation (your generosity supports the SHASTA FAMILY YMCA's COVID-19 efforts including our ongoing emergency child care camp) 
3. Get out and Move between May 15-June 15 and complete your fitness challenge 
4. Document your activity with a photo or video and share on social media and tag SHASTA FAMILY YMCA and use the hashtag #Ygoesthedistance for a chance to win a gift certificate to a local restaurant or retail business.* 
    
   *No purchase necessary. Only participants who have registered for the event and shared a photo or video on social media with the tags @s.f.ymca #ygoesthedistance will be considered in the raffle drawing. 
   Random prize raffle drawings will be held throughout the duration of the event for local restaurants and retail gift cards.

   Child care in the days of COVID-19 is so much different than anything we have experienced in the past. Our Essential Worker Child Care for the children of essential service employees provides enrichment, snacks, lunch and care in a safe and healthy environment that complies with health guidelines established by the Public Health Department. From social distancing, to limited numbers of children per staff member, to CDC cleaning protocols, this camp is much more expensive than our traditional camps. We need your help to continue making this affordable and available through the summer months. We are currently offering financial assistance to families who qualify.  
    
   The impact of your support by the numbers:

• $25 provides enrichment activity supplies for the childcare camp 
• $50 financial assistance for 2 days for 1 child  
• $100 provides financial assistance for 4 days for 1 child 
• $250 provides 10 days of financial assistance for 1 child 
• $500 provides 20 days of financial assistance for 1 child 
• $1000 provides support for childcare staff and operational expenses for 1 week 
• $5000 provides support for child care staff and operational expenses for 1 month
