Event Description
We are excited to announce that the 8th Annual Redondo Beach Swim the Avenues is returning to the coastal waters of Redondo Beach, California. The event date is September 13th, 2026. There will be a 1.2-mile ocean swim as well as a half mile ocean swim. There will be a wet-suit and non-wet suit category. In honor and remembrance of former Redondo Beach Mayor Bill Brand a portion of proceeds will benefit South Bay Park Land Conservancy.
Additionally, Swim the Avenues is proud to continue its partnership with One with the Ocean and their Play in the Waves program. This initiative is instrumental in providing inner-city youth with the opportunity to experience and enjoy the beach.
Swim the Avenues is delighted to become a part of the Southern Pacific Masters Swimming Open Water Series. If you are registered to USMS/SPMS, you are eligible to earn points for your race. Be sure to check USMS on your entry. At the end of the season, a high point winner will be awarded. See the SPMS website for details!
Weekend Schedule
Saturday, September 12th Packet Pick Up 11 AM - 2 PM
- Location: Inside HT Grill (Right in the heart of Redondo Beach Rivera Village) Use Street parking. Parking at HT Grill is valet only.
- 1701 S Catalina Ave, Redondo Beach, CA 90277
- Packet consists of swim cap, timing chip and t-shirt.
- You must pick up your packet in person. Minors may have an Adult pick up for them.
- No Refunds.
Sunday, September 13th Race Day
- 7:00a.m Late Registartion/Late Packet Pick Up at Miramar Park, 201 Paseo De La Playa, Redondo Beach 90277
- Late packets need to be picked up near white tents on the beach before 7:45 a.m.
No glass allowed
Start Time
- Half Mile Swim (non-wetsuit and wetsuit) 8:00 a.m.
- 1.2 Mile Swim (non-wetsuit and wetsuit) 8:25 a.m.
