Description
National Crime Victims' Rights Week will be observed April 18-24, 2021. This year's theme is "Support Victims. Build Trust. Engage Communities." The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is committed to helping victims of crime and protecting their rights. The Bureau of Victim Services provides essential services to crime victims and witnesses in Los Angeles County. In the spirit of healthy bodies and healthy minds, the Bureau of Victim Services is hosting a virtual 5K run/walk to support its motto of "Helping Victims Become Survivors." Participants can name who they want to run for on their bib. Who will you be running for?
This is a no frills virtual event: there is no swag or giveaways. We just want you to stand up, get out, and give voice to victims by participating! Whether you love running trails, conquering the treadmill, or walking around the neighborhood, this COVID-safe virtual race is for you. Tighten your laces and get active to support victim rights to survivorship. You have all of Victims' Rights Week —April 19th through 24th— to complete your run or walk on the route, day, and time that works best for you. Register, track your progress, and compete with others to reach your goal!
Your safety is important to us, and we all have a role in slowing the spread of COVID-19. If you are participating outside, please be sure to keep your distance, wear a mask, and only walk or run on your own or with members of your household. Please follow all COVID-19 safety guidelines required by your state and local governments. View updated information on COVID-19 from the CDC here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.
We are grateful for your continuing commitment to safeguarding crime victims' rights and support of helping victims become survivors.
