We're excited to hold our Be a Hero for the Homeless Virtual 5k Walk/Run again! This year we'll have a two week window, beginning on September 1st, in which competitors can participate, and completion times must be reported online by end of day on September 15th.
Register between now and August 31 for only $45 with a $5 fee for shipping your t-shirt, (local pick-up available). Registration increases to $55 on September 1 – so take advantage of the savings and sign-up early!
We are so looking forward to this! Set for September 1 - 15, 2021, runners or walkers can participate and enter their times whenever they choose. The only rule on timing is that your run or walk must happen after you’ve registered and before the end of the day on September 15. You’ll submit your time, (link TBA), and it really couldn’t be easier!
All registrants will receive a t-shirt (disbursement dates TBA). Families can run or walk together, and we encourage friends, extended families, and coworkers to challenge each other. The best part is that all proceeds go to Joshua’s House Hospice for the terminally ill.
We are thrilled to share that we have purchased the manufactured homes that will make up the Joshua's House Hospice Village and are working diligently to finalize arrangements on our property. That is where Be a Hero for the Homeless Virtual 5k comes in! Our fundraising goal is $100,000, all of which will go towards the furnishings for our future campus. Refrigerators, stoves, washers and dryers, hospital beds, etc. As well as clothing, food, personal items and much more. These supplies are crucial to the success of Joshua's House Hospice and we hope that you'll help us reach this $100,000 by virtually participating!
Want to make your participation in the 5K mean even more? Become a fundraiser! Start your own fundraising page on the Be a Hero for the Homeless Virtual 5k Run/Walk site. Invite your friends and family from anywhere to donate to our important cause. Let them know that they can also be a part of our caring and compassionate community of supporters. They too, can provide someone with the care, love, and sense of dignity they deserve in their dying days by helping us open our doors to serve the terminally ill homeless in Sacramento.
Be sure to use #BeAHeroForTheHomeless5k while training and during your Virtual 5k! We might just share your photo on our Facebook or Instagram!
