Description

Marin has a rich and storied history of running. To honor and celebrate the legacy of our running community we bring you the inaugural Marin Mile.

The Marin Mile is a unique community celebration that welcomes all levels and all ages from all around the Bay Area. The Marin Mile is for anyone, to jog, run, or race a mile on a track with peers.

Been putting in the miles and want to see how fast you can run? We’ve got the right heat for you:

  • Always wanted to break 5-minutes? Here’s your chance.
  • Aiming to run an 8:30 mile? Run with others who share your goal.
  • Hoping to have one last shot at a PR before your high school season is over? The crowd will cheer on your effort.

The event will have multiple heats to accommodate all registered runners. The Marin Mile will finish with our “Elite” men, women and non-binary categories, culminating in an attempt at the fastest mile on Marin County soil, and maybe the first sub-4 as well!

The event is USATF sanctioned and will feature electronic timing!

Start time and end are subject to change. Heats and final schedule will be released the week of the race.

More info about prize money, sponsors and food coming soon, so put June 1st on your calendar and see you at the starting line!

RB Oakland

The Marin Mile is incredibly excited to announce our partnership with Running for a Better Oakland! RBO is a non-profit organization that encourages Kindergarten-12th grade Oakland students to develop healthy lifestyles through running. By providing training and encouragement, RBO helps students build confidence and set goals, giving them tools for achievement and hard work they can draw on in all areas of their lives.

As a part of our effort to support Running for a Better Oakland, we’re encouraging everyone to head to:

to donate directly to RBO. With any donation of $50 or more, your Marin Mile registration is free! Just forward us your confirmation email and we’ll handle the rest. Additionally, a portion of all proceeds of The Marin Mile will go directly to RBO and their efforts to support the Oakland youth running community.

Sign up, tell your friends — let’s make the future of running even better.
