Sol Systems' Run For The Sun 5K Benefiting CALSEIA

Support a Healthy Planet, Healthy Body, and Healthy Solar Industry!

WHAT: What do runners and solar supporters have in common? They both love clean air! And so, this year, a newly added event at Intersolar North America is Sol Systems’ Run For The Sun 5K benefitting CALSEIA. This run/walk is a fun way to fit in your cardio, connect with solar energy industry players and support CALSEIA in building a clean energy future.

WHY: Proceeds will benefit the California Solar Energy Industry Association, (CALSEIA) to support its work to promote the growth of the solar industry. CALSEIA has proven results in policy development, advocacy, education, networking, and business services. The organization’s main goal is to ensure California continues to lead in solar adoption and expand the use of all solar technologies throughout the state. CALSEIA’s Current Priorities are:

• ·       NEM 1.0 Modesto Irrigation District Review on Ending Net Energy Metering (NEM)

·       Save NEM in Imperial County’s IID abruptly ended net energy metering

·       Fighting for solar-friendly rates

·       Protecting consumer access to solar through the defense of net energy metering and fighting for storage and smart grid options

·       Removing barriers to solar, from interconnection issues to permitting and HOA opposition.
