Join us for Viking Run Experience in Golden Gate Park
Viking Run is back for another year! Get ready for the activities, costumes, great raffle prizes, food court treats & picnic as well as a friendly run/walk competition - an event all ages and fitness levels. Whether you're a seasoned runner, a happy wanderer, a yoga lover, or just looking for a fun day out with family and friends, we've got you.
Our run/walk features
For adults: 5K or 2K walk/run
For Youth 13-18 years: 5K or 2K walk/run
For Youth 7-12 years: 5K or 2K walk/run
For Children 4-7 years: 200 yards
For Children 2-3 years: 80 yards
In addition to running as an individual, collect a group of family or friends to create a team (3-6 persons per team, all running the same length). Your individual times will be combined and the fastest team will win.
After the run
After the run, join a relaxing yoga for your whole body. For all levels and free.
Then it's time to relax and indulge in a delightful picnic experience. Meet our partners, take part in fun games and activities, listen to live music, check out the food court and then find your space in our picnic area to enjoy the natural beauty of Golden Gate Park. After experiencing all that event has to offer, join us for the award ceremony for the fastest runners, best costumes and the main raffle prizes.
Itinerary:
7:30 AM Registration opens
8:15 AM Warm-up with Coach Tilda
8:30 AM The race begins for 5K and 2K runners! First runners, then walkers and strollers.
9:15 AM After-run Yoga by Andrea Tegstam
9:30 AM Kids dash (80 yrds 2-3 years, 200 yrds 4-7 years)
10:00 Best costumes and runners & raffle winners announced

Location :
The Pioneer Log Cabin picnic area in Golden Gate Park , located on 2 Blue Heron Lake Drive, the south side – right after it splits off from John F. Kennedy Drive. Please find a map here .
When driving to the picnic area, travel on Blue Heron Lake Drive. Keep in mind that cars are not allowed on John F. Kennedy Drive, but free parking is available along Blue Heron Lake Drive or Martin Luther King Jr Drive.
Please allow ample time to find parking and to check in at the registration which opens at 7:30AM.
