Description

The purpose of Chase the Jester Across California is to help give you a goal for walking or for running that suits your fitness level while providing a social media community to support you. Also, to help hold each other accountable in a loving and supportive way to our own goals, as we track our mileage through the rest of the year. Whether you’re hoping to start a simple daily walking habit or you’re a seasoned weekend warrior runner, we have an event for you. We’ll give you the support and virtual hugs you need all along the way. As well as some fun one-of-a-kind bling when you finish! You choose when and where you want to walk or run, just make sure all your miles are reported by December 31, 2020!

How to Get Started:

1) Pick your event (single or combo), click "Sign Up" and follow the registration steps. There will be an add-on option to include your fur-baby for their own medal too!
2) Starting Monday May 25, going all the way until December 31, 2020 track your progress by submitting your daily miles on the "Results" page.
3) Join our Facebook Group and follow us on Instagram to stay connected.
4) Now it's time to start... JEST RUN!

What counts as miles? Purposeful run, walk, or treadmill miles. It's that simple. Report your miles daily under the "Results" page.

The bigger picture is to bring awareness of the approval of the three-digit 9-8-8 number as the newly designated National Suicide Awareness & Prevention hotline, replacing the current cumbersome 10-digit 800-273-8255 number. Although the new 9-8-8 number was unanimously approved by the Congressional FCC oversight committee in December 2019, they stated it would take 18 MONTHS to put the new number in place.
Why 18 months? Our elected officials need to put political differences aside and work together across the aisle against a common enemy that is completely indiscriminate, taking the lives of 40,000-50,000 Americans every year - this year possibly exceding 60,000. We want to pressure our government to make get this number up and running before the 'Chase the Jester Across California Virtual Runs' ends on 12/31/20

National Suicide Awareness and Prevention Lifeline Number 988

Did you know that the FCC has approved 988 as the new National Suicide Awareness and Prevention lifeline phone number? Every 12 minutes an American takes their life through suicide. With a more memorable 3-digit number it could help address this public health crisis. However, since the bill passed in December of 2019, this notice proposes an 18-month time frame for making the number a reality. Our goal is to bring more awareness to this issue and to pressure Congress to make the number 988 operational as soon as possible.
