For 15 years, the Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot has worked to build community and support thousands of families in need in the Silicon Valley. The health and safety of everyone we engage with has always been our top priority. Now, as the world battles the COVID-19 pandemic, our concern for the running community has been heightened even further and is impacting every decision we make. For this reason and after much discussion with local health experts the Silicon Valley leadership Group Foundation, who founded and produces the event, has made the determination that the race will go forward as a “virtual run”.
While we are saddened to not be able to see 25,000 participants gather on Thanksgiving morning to celebrate together and raise much needed funds for local charities, the health and safety of our community comes first. We still need your support and are working hard to make sure we deliver a great virtual experience along with some awesome race swag!
We will get through this, and we will once again gather in-person as a community because we are better together!
