Accreta Awareness Virtual 5K

The annual Accreta Awareness Virtual 5K is a week-long awareness event and fundraiser for National Accreta Foundation during the month of October - Accreta Awareness Month! The event focuses attention on placenta accreta, one of the fastest growing life-threatening complications of pregnancy.

During Accreta Awareness Month, National Accreta Foundation encourages patients, survivors, medical professionals and public health advocates to spread the word about increased rates and risk factors associated with placenta accreta, including cesarean overuse. Funds raised during the month of October will support National Accreta Foundation's programs and efforts in these areas.

Placenta accreta currently affects 1 in 272 births, putting the mom at risk of severe blood loss, preterm birth, hysterectomy, and other complications. Every mom deserves risk-appropriate obstetric care. Making this a reality requires increasing awareness of accreta, supporting and advocating for moms and babies, and connecting patients and providers with resources to help improve quality of care.

Join us by registering for the virtual 5K and set up an individual or team fundraiser.

Lace up and get moving in your neighborhood or nearby parks — all while raising awareness of accreta and continuing your support of patients and families faced with accreta. You can run or walk the 3.1 miles or 5 kilometers, or do a combination of both, and participate at any time during the week of October 19. Register, set a goal for yourself or your team, and share the reason why you run or walk for accreta awareness!

• Donation to National Accreta Foundation
• Fundraising page to share your story and why accreta awareness matters to you
• A digital bib
• You may also add a NAF Belly Logo Pendant Necklace to your registration.

Prizes:

• Top fundraiser will be crowned our 2024 Accreta Awareness Champion and receive accreta swag and a special certificate for their efforts!
• Our fundraisers who donate or raise $500 will receive a NAF Belly Logo Sweatshirt.
• Our top fundraisers who donate or raise $750 in October in honor of AAM will receive a new NAF Green Belly Logo Embroidered Blanket.
• Our top fundraisers who donate or raise $1,000 in October in honor of AAM will receive a new NAF Green 32oz Engraved Hydroflask Tumbler.

• Wear your accreta gear and take a photo while walking/running
• Choose a location and walk with your family, friends and/or local accreta sisters
• Share your fundraiser and photos on social media and use the hashtag #AccretaAwareness
