Welcome!

Every step we take has the power to save a life.  Today, we invite our community to unite for a cause that affects millions of families every day—diabetes awareness, prevention, and education.  The Diabetes Awareness 5K Walk & Run, hosted by the Stockton Healthy Leo-Lions Club, is more than a race. It is a movement dedicated to bringing hope, promoting healthy lifestyles, and supporting those living with diabetes.

Why Diabetes Awareness Matters:

Diabetes is one of the fastest-growing health challenges in our communities.  Many people are unaware of the serious complications that diabetes can cause, including:  Vision loss and blindness, Kidney disease, Nerve damage, Heart disease and stroke, Foot ulcers leading to amputations, and Premature death.  These outcomes can often be delayed or prevented through education, healthy habits, early detection, and community support.  Awareness saves lives.

Our Mission:

The Stockton Healthy Leo-Lions Club is committed to creating a healthier community by:
1) Educating families about diabetes prevention and management.  2) Encouraging physical activity through walking and running.  3) Promoting healthy lifestyles for all ages.  4) Supporting mental health by bringing people together through community events.  5) Inspiring hope for individuals and families affected by diabetes.  Together, we can make a lasting difference.

Why the Lions Serve:

The Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service organization.  Its global causes include eight areas of service, one of which is Diabetes.  Lions around the world are committed to reducing the impact of diabetes through education, screening, prevention, and community outreach.  The Stockton Healthy Leo-Lions Club proudly supports this mission by organizing events that inspire healthier communities.

Why Participate?

Whether you walk, run, volunteer, sponsor, or donate... You become part of the solution, your participation helps increase diabetes awareness, it encourages healthier lifestyles, it inspires families to become more active, and it strengthen community connections, and your involvement support future diabetes education initiatives.  Every registration... Every donation...Every mile... Makes a difference.  Become a Sponsor!  Businesses and community partners can help create a healthier future.  Sponsors receive community recognition while demonstrating their commitment to:  Health, Wellness, Community Engagement, Youth Development, and Corporate Social Responsibility.  Together, we can reach more families and save more lives.  Join the movement.  Walk for someone you love.  Run for someone fighting diabetes.  Honor someone we've lost.  Celebrate someone living with diabetes.  Together, we can turn awareness into action and action into hope.  Register or donate today.  Every step counts.  Every dollar helps.  Every participant makes a difference.  Run for hope. Walk for awareness. Change lives.

Join us!  And together, let's build a healthier Stockton, one step at a time.  Get your walking or running shoes ready.  Rain or shine, we will see you at Michael Faklis Park on Saturday, November 14th.  The 5K starts at 9am sharp!
