Description
Heart problems are a daunting reality for many. This can prove to be troublesome, especially when you are a child. Pakistan Children Heart Foundation North America (PCHFNA) is a non-profit organization that aims to spread as much awareness as possible about Congenital Heart Disease (CHD).I am a Boy Scout from Troop 399 Boy Scouts of America. I chose PCHFNA as a beneficiary for my Eagle Service Project as its mission and vision align with my personal goals. With the passing of my father due to heart disease, and the opportunity to partner with a credible organization that benefits low and middle-income communities, I am motivated to create awareness about heart diseases. Since PCHFNA's establishment in 2016, they have financially supported 407 surgical/interventional treatments for children with CHD. In addition, their branch in Pakistan, PCHF, has done 3822 heart surgeries/interventions since its establishment in 2012. PCHFNA is building Pakistan’s first dedicated, state-of-art Children’s Heart Hospital & Research Institute (CHHRI), which will act as a model institute for the training of healthcare professionals, education of the public at large and promoting research into the causes & management of CHD. This running event's primary purpose is to contribute to its mission of spreading awareness while providing an excellent opportunity to exercise your heart, so be sure to sign up!
