Take a walk or run down memory lane with a Wizard of Oz theme 5k run! This one of a kind event made for your enjoyment with friends and family. Not only will you be celebrating good health, you'll be giving back to the community. The proceeds from this event will benefit low income single mothers attending local colleges. The poverty rate for single-mother families in 2016 was 35.6%! This is why education for these women is so important!
Bright Mothers help empower women through helping them achieve their educational goals. We are committed to education, integrity and community engagement. For more information please visit Brightmothers.org.

The 5K course begins with approximately .5 miles of paved road. Once you arrive on the trails you will follow them past the pool area until you reach the primary trail system. Here you will take a right and start a rolling out-and-back section that will take you along Vail Lake on a wide fire road. Stay alert for the “5K Turn Around” sign that will be located at the half way point. From here, you will return along the same route that you have already run.
There will be a water-only station on the 5K course that you will pass twice: Mile 0.7 and Mile 2.4. It is strongly encouraged to carry hydration with you for your 5K.
NOTE: Vail Lake Resort charges a $10 per vehicle entrance fee. Carpool if possible to reduce your cost, save space in the park, and reduce your carbon footprint!
