Event Description
🏃‍♀️ Welcome to Spell Your City! Turn your movement into a lasting celebration of hometown pride and personal achievement. Spell Your City is an innovative, multi-year virtual challenge series spanning 25 iconic cities nationwide.

This January, we’re switching things up: instead of a single race distance, this is an all-out monthly mileage challenge. Whether you are stepping into your very first running shoes or you are a seasoned marathon veteran, your mission is simple: log as many miles as you possibly can between January 1 and January 31. Make this January your strongest month yet and kick off the new year with an unforgettable finish. Whether you run through neighborhood streets, hit scenic trails, or rack up distance on the treadmill, every mile brings you closer to your goals.

🏅 The Multi-Year Journey & Year One Medals

Rome wasn't built in a day, and your city won't be spelled in one either! This challenge is designed as an exciting multi-year journey. When you register now, you are signing up for Year One of the series to claim your inaugural letter(s).

Over the coming years, you will return to complete subsequent legs and collect the remaining letters to complete your city’s full name. Medal designs vary by location, and select cities even feature special sets with two medals in Year One to jumpstart your collection.

🎯 How It Works
Log Your January Miles

From January 1 through January 31, run, jog, or walk as much as you can. Set your personal goal, tally your cumulative miles across the entire month, and make every step count toward your Year One milestone.
