Time to dust off the running shoes for Festival Napa Valley's third annual Sun Run. The popular 5K and 10 K race starts at The Community Center in Yountville, and participants can choose to run, jog, or walk along the Vine Trail, to and through charming downtown Yountville, and into the surrounding vineyards. New this year, teams of 10 or more can register for $25 per team participant until June 16, 2017. All proceeds go towards supporting the Napa County Alliance for Arts Education, a coalition dedicated to promoting arts education access, equity and quality in Napa County K-12 public schools.

The 2017 5K course will start and finish at the Yountville Community Center, located at 6516 Washington Street in downtown Yountville. Participants will travel north from charming downtown through the picturesque neighborhoods along Yount Street and Monroe Street before connecting to the Vine Trail. The paved trail will run south to the 5K turnaround point with views of the V Market, gardens and vineyards along the way. Participants will retrace their route to the finish line at the Community Center. The course is fast and flat.
The 2017 10K course will start and finish at the Yountville Community Center, located at 6516 Washington Street in downtown Yountville. Participants will travel north from charming downtown through the picturesque neighborhoods along Yount Street and Monroe Street before connecting to the Vine Trail. Runners will complete the 1 mile stretch of Vine Trail heading south and then turn west under Highway 29 towards the Veterans Home. Beautiful mature trees line the road up to and around the Vets Home, where participants will run a counterclockwise loop on California Boulevard. Upon completing the loop, the 10K course will tour an out-and-back section of the newly completed Vine Trail on Solano Avenue, passing the Fire House and the Vintner's Golf Club. Runners will then retrace their steps under Highway 29 and head north on the Vine Trail, with views of the V Market, gardens and vineyards along the way. The 10K will finish at the Community Center in the heart of town. The course is paved and includes a moderate incline and descent between miles 2 and 3.5.
