Meet the Beneficiaries
In 2025, Ashure Ministry provided over 3.3 million pounds of food through 63,521 food pick-ups, for individuals facing food insecurity. Fresh produce made up 29% of each pick-up. Additionally, the ministry distributed more than $976,000 in financial assistance to help with rent, mortgage, utilities, and other essential needs.a new text field ready for your content.
In 2025, The Corner Table served over 53,111 hot meals, averaging 207 guests and 247 servings per day, and distributed 8,170 frozen meals, a 27.3% increase from the previous year. Additionally, they provided more than 9,119 weekend meal-to-go bags and supplied local schools with over 16,600 snacks. Through their Backpack Program, they served more than 1,600 children each week, an 18.5% increase, and distributed over 53,000 weekend food bags to students in need. Volunteers contributed over 73,000 hours of service.
In 2025, Hickory Soup Kitchen was open 312 days and served 82,913 hot nutritious meals and provided
12,478 bags of groceries in 2025. Volunteers gave a total of 13,545 hours. HSK also provided
space for 3,895 showers taken by our guests. Our HOPE center provided job placement to over 27
individuals and provided transportation for 11 of those folks daily to and from work.
Why We Walk
The Catawba County Hunger Walk is a community event benefiting Ashure Ministry, The
Corner Table, and Hickory Soup Kitchen. The goals of this three-mile walk are to raise funds
for hunger relief in Catawba County and to raise awareness of the hunger issue in our
community.
