Description
Join us for our take on the Beer Mile and/or the Donut Hole Mile to be held as part of our 3rd Year Anniversary celebration on Saturday, March 8th, 2025!
In the spirit of a traditional Beer Mile format, you'll have to drink one 12oz beer before running each quarter mile. Since we don't have a track at the Tap House, our course will be a quarter mile out and back loops alternating directions (starting eastbound) along Ralston Creek Trail. If you are looking to break the Guinness World Record you will need to look elsewhere ... but if you are the top male or female individual finisher, you will earn your spot on the Tap House Wall of Champions plaque! If your beer mile training level isn't quite there yet, grab a partner and sign up as a 2-person team and enjoy half the beer with twice the fun!
But first, we'll start with our family friendly Donut Hole Mile! Run in the same way as a Beer Mile ibut you eat progressively more donut holes before on each leg... 1 donut hole before the 1st quarter mile, 2 before the 2nd, 3 before you run your 3rd quarter mile and, of course, 4 right before you head out for the last leg of the mile for a grand total of 10 donut holes! Each runner will consume 5 glazed and 5 chocolate donut holes.
What beers are we chugging and donuts are we eating?!
For the CTH Beer Mile, we will be featuring 3 easy drinking Coors Light Lagers along with 1 exclusive Colorado Tap House Anniversary Ale. Our Anniversary Ale is a vibrant twist on Odyssey Beerwerks flagship Ghost Drifter Pale Ale named Safe Word Pineapple and brewered exclusively for our 3rd Year Anniversary celebration.
CTH Beer and Donut Hole Mile Rules
CTH Beer Mile Official Rules
- Each competitor drinks four cans of beer and runs four quarter mile out and back loops from the Tap House (start with chugging a beer, then run an eastbound lap, then beer, then westbound lap, then beer, then eastbound lap, then beer, then westbound lap - finish).
2-Person Teams – Any combination/sequence is allowed (doesn’t not need to be evenly split). - The race begins with competitors at their designated station within the transition zone drinking their first beer before setting off to run a lap. To prove the beer is finished, competitors must hold the can upside down on their head.
- Beer cans must not be tampered with in any manner. (e.g. no shotgunning, puncturing the can, squeezing the can, etc.). The only action allowed is opening the can with the tab at the top.
- Each beer can must not be opened until the competitor reaches their station within the transition zone.
- Competitors who vomit before they finish the race must complete one penalty lap at the end of the race (immediately after the completion of their 4th lap). Vomiting more than once during the race still only requires one penalty lap at the end.
2-Person Teams – If either or both team members vomit the race still only requires one penalty lap but it must be run by both team members together at the end.
CTH Donut Hole Mile Official Rules
- Each competitor eats a total of ten donut holes (5 glazed and 5 chocolate) and runs four quarter mile out and back loops from the Tap House (start with eating 1 donut hole, then run an eastbound lap, then eat 2 donut holes, then westbound lap, then eat 3 donut holes, then eastbound lap, finally eat 4 donut holes, then westbound lap - finish). Partipants can chose the order/flavor of donut holes they eat before each lap.
- The race begins with competitors at their designated station within the transition zone eating their donut hole(s) before setting off to run a lap. To prove the donut hole(s) are finished, competitors must open their mouth wide to the face official and get their ok to proceed.
- Competitors who vomit before they finish the race must complete one penalty lap at the end of the race (immediately after the completion of their 4th lap). Vomiting more than once during the race still only requires one penalty lap at the end.
