Join Charlie's Guys for the first annual Chasing Charlie 5k event May 14-20, 2023!
The inaugural Chasing Charlie 5K is a virtual run/walk fundraising event that supports Charlie's Guys, reminding bereaved children they are loved and not forgotten-one step at a time.
You can help remind bereaved children that they are loved and not forgotten by signing up, getting outdoors and running/walking for an amazing cause. Taking part not only builds a healthier you but also directly supports the grief journey of children across the country.
You’re invited to take part wherever and however you feel comfortable whether that be running, walking, or another form of physical activity to support bereaved children across America. Participants will time their own 5K, which is 3.1 miles, and record their time on the race website. All funds raised will go directly to supporting bereaved children.
We are so excited for you to join us in our efforts to support bereaved children across America. We hope you enjoy your 5K, Fun Run, or 100 Yard Dash where you feel most comfortable. You can record your time under the results tab during May 14th-20th however, this is optional and is NOT a requirement.
We will mail out race packets before the race, which will include your race bib and t-shirt if you decide to purchase one. During registration you will have the option to purchase a Chasing Charlie T-shirt. To ensure you receive your shirt and race bib by race week, please make sure you register and order your t-shirt by April 8, 2023!!
Charlie's Guys is a Colorado-based nonprofit organization and is the only organization of its kind that serves children who have lost a sibling with a special gift or experience to help them through the trauma on their grief journey. The organization was founded in 2018 to commemorate and honor the life of 23-month-old Charlie Davies after he unexpectedly lost his life to an asymptomatic virus that compromised his body and became fatal. Charlie loved superheroes, specifically the Transformers: Robots in Disguise & due to the developing vocabulary of an almost 2-year-old, he gave them his own version of the name "The Guys" as in "disguise". Which is how the name "Charlie's Guys" was born.
Charlie's Guys provides FREE grief resources, gifts & experiences for grieving children, and grief therapy financial support.
All adult registrants must also raise at least $15 by May 20th. If you do not meet the $15 fundraising requirement prior to May 20, 2023, the remainder of the requirement will be charged to the credit card that you used during registration.
