The Why - Let's MOVE for our Furry Friends
April is National Canine Fitness month to remind us to keep our dogs active and fit. Too many dogs suffer from obesity and “sedentarism,” the two most common preventable conditions in the canine and human populations. Obesity causes our furry friends to have sore joints, difficulty breathing, a higher risk for cancer, canine diabetes and other diseases, and shortens their lives.
The opposite of a sedentary lifestyle is movement. Playing, being outside, engaging and moving. Canine Fitness Month encourages us to take a step toward a developing a healthier lifestyle and bond with our four-legged family members. Let's MOVE as Heroes to make lives better for our dogs and their humans.
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1: Sign up to join one of 12 Pack Breeds and nominate your favorite animal shelter to be our beneficiary of pet gifts from Amazon.
Step 2: Join the RUN to Change Lives Facebook Group and announce your Pack Breed using one of the 12 Pack Breed hashtags.
Step 3: All April post your workouts and furry friends often on Facebook and Instagram using your Pack's hashtag. Best of Breed pack determined by level of engagement.
Step 4: On April 5th we announce the selected animal shelter with a link to the Amazon wish list.
