This years featured speaker is Coach Chuck Shwartz from Air Academy High School

​Began running in Middle School to get in shape for other sports. Began competitive running as a Junior in High School at Sheridan High School, Sheridan, Arkansas.  Ran 5 years for Adams State College and was an individual National Champion in the 3000m Steeplechase and an All-American in Cross Country.  Participated on 6 National Championship Teams as an athlete. Coached 1 High School National Championship Team in 2023. Ran for Reebok Racing Club for 4 years after college.  As a coach, has worked at every level of ability: youth club, middle school, high school, collegiate and elite (Coached a 6th place finisher in Chicago Marathon).  Head Cross Country and Track Coach at Doherty for 20 years (the last 6 years co-coached the team).  Currently in 11th year as Head Cross Country Coach at Air Academy.  Also the Head Girls Track and Field Coach.  Was inducted into The Adams State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016.  Also an inductee in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Hall of Fame. Coach Schwartz was named the 2022 and 2023 CHSAA Colorado Girls 5A Coach of Year and the 2022 and 2023 USTFCCCA Colorado Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year. Named the 2023 USTFCCCA National Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year and the 2024 Nike NXN Joe Newton Coach of the Year.
