TASK: On Saturday, April 27th, 2019 the Just Ruck 5K walk/march event will take place in the beautiful Garden the Gods, Colorado Springs, CO. The 501c3 Non Profit Organization, Struggle Beyond the Decade along with Kingdom Empowerment outreach ministries will organize and conduct a community walk to raise awareness for the issue of Veteran suicide.
CONDITIONS: The 5K ruck march/walk will take place at Garden of the God's park (1805 N 30th St. Colorado Springs, Colorado) Participants will begin showing up at 7:30 for any last registrations, and to pick up their souvenir tee shirt. Approximately at 9 a.m. the pre-march ceremonies will begin and the march will promptly follow.
PURPOSE: This event mission is to bring our Military veterans, First Responders, veteran organizations, religious groups and the supporting community together to raise awareness and show support of the veteran lead nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to helping veterans find alternative outcomes to their struggles. All proceeds raised during this event will benefit the following Nonprofit Organizations: Struggle Beyond the Decade and Veteran X. Event planners will work with community leaders, veterans and first responders to put on a spectacular event to mingle veterans, first responders and a community to help create new dialogue about the suicide rates for veterans and their families.
STANDARD: Registrations for this event is $25 each participant will receive their souvenir march tee shirt at the event. Participants are not required to but are encouraged to wear a rucksack/backpack during the march to symbolize that weight carried by our national heroes (not provided). There will be several stops along the way for hydration/snacks and accountability.
