8:00AM EDT - 10:00AM EDT

Join Court Care for the Pikes Peak Region on Saturday,  April 27, 2019 for our 7th annual Protect the Children 5K Run / Walk through historic North Monument Valley Park. This is a great race for beginners and advanced athletes alike. The race starts and ends near the serpentine wall (close to the baseball fields) heads north shortly, and then south, looping back to the start point. The course does not cross any roads and remains on gravel trail or grassy playing fields throughout. The course does not have major hills or other obstacles. Protect the Children 5K is presented in partnership with Pikes Peak Road Runners.

All proceeds support Court Care to provide free, licensed childcare for anyone who needs to be in court in our region. Race to help keep children insulated and protected from the potentially traumatic testimony that is reiterated in courtrooms every day.

Court Care will be collecting gently used children's books to give to underserved children. Bring books on race day to help build children's love of reading.

Mission Statement

Court Care for the Pikes Peak Region exists to provide quality child care in a safe, family-friendly environment for children of individuals who have court-related business.

About Court Care

Since 2003, Court Care for the Pikes Peak Region has provided free, drop-in, licensed child care to families that have court-related business in the Fourth Judicial District Court (serving El Paso and Teller Counties) and Colorado Springs Municipal Court.  In partnership with Early Connections Learning Center, Court Care cares for children ages six weeks to 14 years old.  Each year, Court Care provides a safe, fun, and supportive environment for an average of 4,000 children.  Court Care is a non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization.

Before Court Care was founded, thousands of children each year were brought into courtrooms and witnessed any number of sensitive or graphic proceedings.  In this environment, they witness life’s harshest realities, sense the stress and fear around them, and often, understandably, pull parental and judicial attention away from the proceedings by causing disruptions to the overflowing system dockets.

Court Care protects children, allows caregivers to complete their court-related business with dignity and without distractions, and helps keep our court system running more effectively.
