The Human Potential Running Series Presents:
The Stories Trail Runs @ Cheyenne Mountain State Park
The Stories Trail Runs is a unique winter trail-running adventure in Colorado Springs, CO, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Cheyenne Mountain and “America’s Mountain,” Pike’s Peak, with sweeping views of the Colorado Front Range below. This event features an amazing community atmosphere, made possible by our main staging area and aid station at the start and finish of each loop. The Stories timed events (15-hr and 6-hr) are unique because, rather than repeating loops on the same 1-2 mile track, participants enjoy multiple loops spread throughout Cheyenne Mountain State Park. Timed events also challenge runners to run as many miles as they can or want within their allotted time. Our trail 10k, Half Marathon, and 20-Mile round out the weekend as traditional distance options, letting runners enjoy the communal aspect of HPRS while running a fantastic trail race along select State Park trails.
WEATHER: It’s February in Colorado and the weather, as always, is incredibly unpredictable. Some years bring temps that soar into the low 50s, others start frigid with below-zero temps, some bring dry trails with no trace of winter, and some drop a foot of snow during the event. A race in Colorado Springs, in this park, during this month is almost guaranteed to face adverse conditions. The trails within Cheyenne Mountain State Park will NOT be perfect. As in all previous years, we will make every effort to host this event as scheduled and planned. HOWEVER... Given the conditions, we may alter the course before the event starts and/or mid-race to minimize our impact on the trails. We intend to host this event regardless of the varied weather and trail conditions. The health and safety of all runners and volunteers, as well as the integrity of the park’s trails, are paramount. If conditions necessitate cancellation, our full refund and credit policies will remain in effect.
