Description
Virtually travel the length of Colorado from the “Welcome to Colorful Colorado” sign near Alamosa to the sign near Walden.
The Challenge
This year’s Great Colorado Sign Challenge will virtually travel a mountainous 325 miles from New Mexico to Wyoming. Starting from the “Welcome to Colorful Colorado” sign on US-285 near Alamosa, we will travel north past Salida and Buena Vista before heading into Fairplay. Here, we will turn onto CO-9 and head over Hoosier Pass and into Breckenridge, Frisco and Silverthorne. When we reach Kremmling, we will turn onto US-40. Just before the summit of Rabbit Ears Pass, we will turn onto CO-14. Once through the small town of Walden we will make our final push along CO-125 to the finish line at the Wyoming border.
How many weeks will it take you to cover that distance? Take as long as you want, starting this summer. Do the Great Colorado Sign Challenge solo or with a team. This challenge should provide you an excellent test of fitness and a chance to plan to increase your training no matter how many miles you exercise weekly.
Did you participate last year? If so, look for an email with a special coupon code to receive the 2021 stainless steel pint glass for free!

Auto sync your activities
Colorado Runner Events is proud to introduce the ability to auto sync your activities. This means there is no need for you to manually add your miles (though you can still do that if you wish). This is currently available for the following devices – FitBit, Garmin, Polar, and Coros. You can also auto sync your activities from a Strava account. Everyone who registers will be given an event specific code to use to add your profile to the results tracker. This code is found in you confirmation email. Instructions on how to sync your results are also found in the confirmation email.
The results tracker will be open from May 1 until December 31, 2021.
