Description
This event is a fundraiser for the South Park Middle and High School fall athletics. The community 5K run will be a competitive race with official timing. The family fun 3K run will be open to community members to come support fall athletics and scooters, roller blades, and skateboards will all be allowed in this event. We will NOT allow bikes (exception for kids 6 and under, tricycles, or push bikes) for the family fun 3k. Both the 5k and the 3k will start and finish at the football field, NOT at the school. Race participants in the 5K and the 3K will receive a t-shirt, a meal ticket (for a cookout following the finish of the 3k), and a free entry ticket to the football game (starting at 1pm). Although registration is open until the day of the event, only those who register before August 6th are guaranteed a t-shirt.
All money raised at this event will be evenly split between the football, volleyball, cheerleading, and cross country teams and the Girls on the Run program at the elementary school. Football would use the extra funds to update players' equipment and new facility equipment to be used for high school, middle school, and peewee programs. The volleyball team will be able to purchase specialized equipment for hitting, blocking, and passing. The money will provide new uniforms for cheerleading. This money will help supplement the cross country team's entries to the state competition at the end of the season. Finally, Girls on the Run will use the money for 5k entry fees at the end of the season and registration fees.
Please join us and support South Park athletics!

Course Maps
Both races will start and finish in the football field parking lot.
The 5k race will run up past the Rec Center, by the Park County Fairgrounds, and down 8th street. At HWY 9 runners will cross over to Front St and run to 4th street and cross HWY 9 again. After that, runners will run up 2nd to Castello and back to 8th street and run back to the football field the way they came.
The 3k race will follow roughly the same path, but instead of crossing HWY 9 to Front street, runners will turn on HWY 9 to 6th street and then head back to the football field.
For these races, safety is a major concern of ours and we will have course officials and police along the way to help with traffic control and directions for runners.
