Denver's low key, low cost multisport winter series!!!
The Chilly Cheeks Winter Series is composed of three fun run & bike events at the Cherry Creek Reservoir. Choose from the run & bike duathlon or the 4 mile run.
We provide a marked and marshaled course, fast & accurate chip timing, light refreshments, and some fun mid-winter competition in the heart of Denver.
When you enter the three race Duathlon or Run Series Option by December 17th you will get a pair of Chilly Cheeks Sweat Pants included with your entry! These are perfect for pulling on post-race or for lounging around the house.
The Chilly Cheeks Duathlon Series is composed of 3 events - each with a different format. Each race is comprised of approximately 4 miles of running on paved roads, bike paths, and dirt trails. There will also be approximately 10 miles of cycling in each race. The entire bike course is held on paved park roadways.
December 18 Format: 4 mile run followed by a 10 mile bike ride
January 15 Format: 1.25 mile run, 10 mile bike, 2.75 mile run
February 26 Format: 10 mile bike ride followed by a 4 mile run
The run series consists of three 4 mile runs.
Keep in mind, this is a winter event, and although the entire bike course is paved, there may be snow, sand, and/or ice along the route. This website will be updated approximately 2 days before each event (no emails will be sent) with the course conditions to assist you in choosing your bike and shoes for the event. The photos on the website will give you an idea of the variety of conditions you may experience in this series.
Races will be contested regardless of conditions - and if the weather warrants we may change the distances, course, or format of the race accordingly, so no grumbling - this is all about having fun in the winter.
