Description
Register NOW for the 12th Annual Gunnison High Triathlon. The cost is $30.00 for kids, $65.00 for adults, and $130.00 for teams. This Sprint Triathlon is proudly brought to you by the Gunnison Parks & Recreation Department. It begins with a 500yard swim (10 laps) at the Community & Aquatics Center, then continues with a 23K (14.5-mile) bike course, and wraps up with a 6.4K (4-mile) run that finishes at the Community Center. The kid's triathlon starts at 8:30 am and the adult race starts at 10:30 am. For more information contact:

The Gunnison High Triathlon is a family friendly Sprint Distance Triathlon for both kids and adults. The race is staged out of the Gunnison Recreation Center 200 E. Spencer Ave with the swim being completed in the Aquatics Center. The Bike route is all on asphalt using bike path and County Road #730. The Run course uses the scenic Van Tuyl Trail system on a gravel surface. The kids race starts at 8:30am and Adult race at 10:00am, the transition zone is staged in the lawn East of the pool and can be accessed 1.5 hours before race start. All participants will receive a t-shirt at registration, top three finishers in each age category will receive a medal. After party includes, award ceremony, food & beverages for participants, and beer/seltzer garden.

KIDS TRIATHLON INFORMATION
Parent/Info meeting @ 8:00am in Community Center Gym – Race at 8:30am
4-6 Year Olds – turn around at red sign
SWIM: Length of Leisure Pool (Deep end to Shallow End/Bench area)
BIKE: ½ Mile = North of Building, Turn around @ HWY 135 Intersection, back to transition
RUN: ¼ Mile = North of Building to Rock Creek Road, then back to Community Center, Transition
& Finish.
7-8 Year Olds – turn around at blue sign
SWIM: 25 Yard Swim in lap pool – all lanes
BIKE: 1.25 Miles = North of building to HWY 135 intersection, along HWY (bike path) to frontage road intersection – turn around – and back to transition
RUN: 1/3 Miles = North of Building to Rock Creek Road, North, then left, (West) then left (South) back to North Colorado Street, left, (East), back to Community Center, Transition & Finish.
9-10 Year Olds – turn around at green sign
SWIM: 50 Yard Swim in lap pool – all lanes
BIKE: 2 Miles = North of building to HWY 135 intersection, along HWY (bike path) to animal hospital– turn around – and back to transition
RUN: 1/2 Miles = North of Building to Rock Creek Road, North, then left, (West) to Bike trail keep going West to intersection of Bike trail & HWY 135, go left, (South) to intersection with North Colorado Street, go left, (East), back to Community Center, Transition & Finish.
11+ Year Olds – turn around at pink sign
SWIM: 100 Yard Swim in lap pool – all lanes
BIKE: 3 Miles = North of building to HWY 135 intersection, along HWY until you see course marshal with pink sign, before Tall Texan RV park.
RUN: 3/4 Miles = North of Building to Rock Creek Road, North, then left, (West) to Bike trail Left, (South) to intersection with North Colorado Street, left, (East), to Rock Creek Road Left and right, right around loop, Left back to Community Center, Transition & Finish.
