Gold Roots Trail Series (Draft)

The Gold Roots Trail Series is a four-race, grassroots running event on the Virginia Canyon Mountain Park trails in Idaho Springs, CO. You've zipped down I-70 a hundred times on your way to the mountains, maybe stopped in Idaho Springs for gas and a snack, then kept going. Meanwhile, miles of world-class singletrack and big mountain views are just up the hill. This is an invitation to explore Idaho Springs beyond the highway!

Event Details:

Race #1 is a 5 mile loop starting at the base of the Argo Gondola, climbing 2.5 miles on the Rosa Gulch trail, linking to the Morningstar trail and descending down Virgina Canyon Road back to the Argo. Find the course map here: https://www.strava.com/routes/3386174321930453078

Race #2, #3 and #4 will be a 4-mile point-to-point trail run with a 1250' climb into the mountains of Idaho Springs. You run the climb, get your beer or soda at the top and then ride the gondola back down at your leisure. Find the course map here: https://www.strava.com/routes/3485025156253730092

Gold Roots events are a laid back, community-built event, your official time will be our eyes on the clock when you cross the line.

Schedule:

• 5:00 PM — Check-in at the base of the Argo Gondola
• 5:30 PM — Race start

The Finish:

Hang at the top, take in the views, then enjoy a cold beer (or soda) and a ride down on the Argo Gondola.
