Kick off your 4th of July with a family-friendly and festive 5K on Saturday, July 4, beginning at 7:30 a.m.! Celebrate Independence Day with a fun morning on the move — this spirited run/walk welcomes everyone: first-time 5K participants, elite athletes, kids, parents with strollers, and even four-legged friends. Lace up, bring your patriotic flair, and start the holiday with energy and community cheer! Once you cross the finish line, keep the celebration going by heading over to Highlands Ranch Parkway to enjoy the annual HRCA 4th of July Parade!
Keep your eyes peeled — a red, white, and blue kettlebell will be hidden on the course! Whoever finds it and brings it back to the finish will win $100! 🎉
All participants will receive the following:
- Race t-shirt
- Independence Day 5K pint glass
- Custom race bib
- Pancake breakfast from Flippin' Flapjacks
- Post-race beer from Living the Dream Brewing
Awards
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each gender category.

Race Day Packet Pickup
You will be able to pick up your timing bib and race shirt beginning at 6:30 a.m. on race morning at the race start. Runners should expect lines and pre-race pickup is encouraged.
Course Description
Light a firecracker under those running shoes and get ready for a fun and fast 5K course with a total ascent of 130 ft and a maximum elevation of 5,704 ft! Starting and finishing on Dorchester Street, this route sends runners north to Plaza Drive, loops back along Broadway, cruises down Highlands Ranch Parkway, and returns to Town Center South for a spirited finish.
There will be one aid station on the course offering water.
This course is friendly for families, strollers, and pets! If you are running with a stroller or a furry friend, please start toward the back to ensure a fun and safe experience for all participants.

There will be no onsite registration for this race however registration will remain open online until the day of the race. If you're interested in joining us last minute, please register online and our system will be able to check you in real-time.
Yes, free parking is available in the Highlands Ranch town center parking garage or in the surrounding area.

Unfortunately, all registrations are final.
We race rain or shine! We will only cancel the race if conditions make it extremely unsafe for participants.
Yes, however, it is strongly discouraged as the safety of all participants is our main priority. If you do decide to wear headphones please keep them at a low volume to ensure you can hear what is going on around you.
Yes, restrooms will be available on the west side of the clock tower at Town Center next to Abloom Florist.
We will have medical services located near the start/finish line. If medical attention is needed seek the medical table near the start/finish line.
There will be one aid station on the course providing hydration for all runners located at S Ridgeline Blvd & Plaza Drive.
